Kids learn about sustainability in a playful way during the
Together with Solly and his friends, children experience how to generate energy and learn about the potential of renewable energy. By discovering, researching and designing in an active and playful way, children are intrinsically motivated to contribute to a sustainable society. Solly works with the children towards a new, green generation.
Leader of the robotsystem is Solly, the sun-eating robot. He eats solar rays through the solar panels in his mouth. He can direct this energy directly to his friends via the flow cable. For example, to his friend Letty, the luminous robot. Also, the energy can be stored in the battery belly. The belly can be clicked on Solly to save all the energy that Solly eats. Later the belly can be clicked on other robots to reuse the stored energy.
Teun van Roessel
By 2015, Teun van Roessel founded ‘Solly Systems’ in cooperation with engineering and design agency Ephi B.V. It all started as a graduation project at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Currently the first commercial product, aimed at primary education, is on the market. First steps towards the consumer market are taken.
